Entertainment: Nigerian singer, Flavour, accused of 'stealing' by Ghanian music duo

Flavour Defunct music duo Wutah may sue Nigerian music artiste, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour N'abania for stealing their intellectual property. According to a source close to the duo, made up of Wutah Kobby and Wutah PV, management of the artistes is not pleased with theKwarikwa song released by the Nigerian which bears stark resemblance with their smash hit Kotosa.  The source accused Flavour of ‘stealing’ the chorus, rhythm, rhyme and the opening saxophone beat used in their song with total disregard for their right as the only legitimate owners of the song.  Kotosa, produced by Appietus, hit the Ghanaian music scene in 2008 before the two parted ways in 2010, while Kwarikwa was released mid 2011 – three years after. This will not be the first time the Nigerian artiste is being accused of stealing the intellectual property of a Ghanaian musician. It was reported that his hit song Ashawo which gained massive recognition across Africa and Ghana, was culled from an old Ghanaian hi-life song. Interestingly, the Nigerian went ahead to record a remix version of theAshawo track with some Ghanaian artistes, Stone of music duo Bradez, and Asem.
